Introducing Alexander Elbittar, PhD, Our New Managing Director

 

GAMES Economics proudly welcomes Alexander Elbittar, PhD, as new Managing Director and Head of our Mexico City office. Alexander joins Juan Delgado in the GAMES Economics management team. With an extensive background in antitrust regulation, litigation, and business strategy, Alexander brings unparalleled expertise to our team. His previous role as Academic Advisor at GAMES Economics and his ongoing professorship at the Center for Economic Research and Teaching (CIDE) in Mexico City highlight his dedication to both academia and practical applications in economics.

 

Alexander earned his PhD in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh and has a distinguished career teaching competition policy across Latin America. His experience as an expert witness in specialized courts in Mexico and as a damages estimation expert for international panels further underscores his capabilities. He has held numerous prestigious positions, including Director of the Interdisciplinary Program in Regulation and Economic Competition (PIRCE) at CIDE and Non-Governmental Advisor for COFECE and COPROCOM for the International Competition Network (ICN). His research has been widely published in leading economic journals, and he has contributed to several high-impact studies on competition and regulation.

 

New Director: Ruben Guerrero, MSc

 

We are excited to announce Ruben Guerrero’s promotion to Director. Ruben holds a Master in Economics from El Colegio de México and a Master in Competition and Regulation from the Barcelona School of Economics. His extensive experience in competition matters, particularly in telecommunications and electricity, adds immense value to our global team of experts. Ruben has also served as an expert witness in specialized courts in Mexico, contributing his deep understanding of regulatory frameworks and competition law to significant cases.

 

Promoting Benjamin Oliva, MSc, to Principal

Benjamin Oliva’s promotion to Principal is a testament to his exceptional expertise in Data Science, Statistics, and Econometrics. With a Master in Economics from CIDE, Benjamin has been instrumental in advancing our Artificial Intelligence capabilities, broadening our service offerings to our clients. Benjamin has also served as an expert witness in specialized courts in Mexico, providing expert analysis and testimony in complex competition and regulatory cases.
